All reviewsReview of the bookmaker Betpawa from Legalbet
Ke.betpawa is a budding online betting company in Kenya. It is a faction of the widely known Betpawa. So far, Ke.betpawa is work in progress and with further development to their platform, they could become one of the leading online betting companies in Kenya.
Odds — normal
We calculated the margin for Betpawa by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:
From 1% to 5%: Good value
Over 5% to 7%: Average value
Over 7% to 10%: Poor value
Football
We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.
Betpawa has an overall margin of 5.98% for football and falls in the average value category. In the first section using odds from the English Premier League, the margin is at 5.41%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, has a margin of 5.45%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 7.08%.
Betting options — bad
Range of Sports: Betpawa offers a very limited variety of sports. As at the time of this review, there were just a few popular sports like football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and the ‘common’ ones you would expect. This becomes a problem for punters who enjoy experimenting on a wide range of sports.
It is also worrisome that virtual games are not stacked with options as one would expect. This could pose a deterrent to punters who have a special liking to virtual games.
The interface of the platform also needs a lot of improvement. The colour themes used are very much basic and the site in general is quite difficult to navigate through. The sports selection is not well aligned for easy viewing and could be a struggle for a new user who is not familiar with the platform.
Range of Bets and Markets: It is common knowledge that punters are generally pulled to a platform that gives them a plethora of betting options to pick from. It is apparent that the management of Betpawa are oblivious of the perks of having numerous betting options, considering the fact that the options are very much limited.
As at the time of this review, football events on the platform have just below 100 betting options to wager on. This also applies to the other sport categories on the platform.
As a football lover, you are pretty much restricted to wagering on the basic options like "straight win" "double chance" "BTTS" and that is very much limiting. However, it would be suffice to note that some interesting bet options like "first corner" "anytime goalscorer" "last goalscorer" are available.
Betting limits: The amount you can bet on Betpawa is at a good level and most probably, they will be more than enough for most of its customers. As it is very often the case among sportsbooks, less popular markets come with lower betting limits.
Live — bad
With the In-play feature on live games, betting is not only restricted to pre-matches. Punters get to have an opportunity to wager on games they have followed on live. While this platform allows live betting, there is work to be done in this area. Given the fact that their sportsbook only covers a few sports to go with, it’s no surprise to see the same in this section too.
Betpawa only has football, basketball and tennis as the only sports available for live betting. To go with, the options for the mentioned sports will be ok for most people. Football is the dominant sport on this platform and has about 50+ options available for live betting, depending on the level of the league too of course. That is decent enough but the same cannot be said for other sports. The likes of basketball and tennis have just about 10+ options each which can be described as basic to be honest. To improve this section, they would need more sports to start with as it is for their pre-game and then more options spread across each of them, to get things going.
A better equipped scoreboard would also be more than welcome, as a plain view on the score, time and the basic info of the game is not even close to enough nowadays.
