Odds — good

We calculated the margin for Bongobongo by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

Bongobongo has an overall margin of 4.70% for football and falls in the good value category. In the first section using odds from the English Premier League, the margin is at 3.87%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, has a margin of 4.29%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 5.94%.

Betting options — good

Bongobongo is an up and coming online betting company that's slowly penetrating the Kenyan betting space. In just the short period they have been around, they have won the hearts of many and that could be attributed to the fine selection of games and the simplicity the website exudes.

Range of Sports: The betting platform offers about 15 sports in which top sports like football, basketball, cricket, rugby and ice hockey are well included.

The virtual section of this platform is well organized and stacked with a wide array of games to wager on. We are talking about games like Virtual Euro, Virtual Europa League, Instant horses, Instant Greyhounds, Instant Speedway, Virtual Tennis and Instant Velodrome. This impressive selection of virtual games would make any virtual games lover extremely delighted.

Elsewhere, Casino is non-existent on the bookie and needs to be worked on. To their credit, they did put the words ‘coming soon’ just beside the already allocated section for casino games on their website. With that in mind, we can only assume they should have that available in the near future.

The user interface exudes a level of simplicity and class. The site is well organized in such a way that it’s easy for anyone to find their way around. The different shades of blue color themes give the site a very cool appearance.

Range of Bets and Markets: While it is exciting to see a fleet of sports to pick from while betting, it doesn't take away the fact that the betting options available are also important. This is one factor punters are sensitive to in their quest for a favorable bookie.

Bongobongo are not ignorant of this fact. Hence, they make provisions for a good number of betting options across the popular sports enlisted on the platform.

For football, punters can bet on exciting options like "Double Chance & over 2.5" "2nd half both teams to score" "2nd half total 1.5" "2nd half draw no bet, " and a lot more options.

For basketball, punters get to stake on options like "1st half - total" "Winner (incl. Over time)" "3rd quarter - total," to mention but a few.

A closer look showed that football and basketball were the sports given most options and other sports were more or less scarce. We understand that football and basketball are easily the most popular sports around but a sportsbook which offers numerous betting options across all sports is one of the key features that make a top bookie. This is an issue they must address soon enough.

Betting limits: The money that can be placed on a bet shouldn't be a problem for most punters on Bongobongo. Although, naturally you can expect that the limits are getting sliced on lower leagues as it's the case on most bookmakers nowadays.

Live — normal

Ever since the adoption into bookies, punters are becoming more satisfied with their betting experience. At this point, punters now use the availability of in-play betting to help them decide whether they want to use a bookie or not. And who wouldn't?

Bongobongo is privy to how dear punters hold in-play betting; hence, they have available one of the most impressive in-play features that you can find.

Since in-play betting is incomplete without a statistics checker on the live game, they make sure each game listed on the in-play section has a well responsive statistics update. This will help the punters make a well-informed betting decision.

However, they only have football, basketball and tennis available for live betting as at the time of this review. These are nicely covered both league wise and from a market point of view. You’ll almost always find something going on there though and with a decent amount of markets even in the lowest of leagues.

Their presentation is really nice and clean, with the markets being well read and placed in a pop-up window which has a great scoreboard on top with full stats provided by Sportradar as they’re also labeled. A nice field view showing what’s going on in the game is a lively addition that adds up to the experience.

The only reason for the “normal” rating we give their live section is the few sports available there, something that feels like a temporary characteristic.

About the bookmaker

Bongobongo, owned by Kensen Limited, is one new online betting platform that is slowly making a statement in Kenya. For a relatively new site, they are doing well for themselves given the number of users they have been able to amass. They need to work on their betting options or could end up losing pace behind fellow bookmakers. However, they are on the right path and if they maintain this momentum, they could see even more popularity in due time. Their operations are licensed by the BLCB of Kenya with license number No.0000233.
