Odds — bad

We calculated the margin for M-bet by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

M-bet has an overall margin of 8.87% for football and falls in the poor value category. In the first section using odds from the English Premier League, the margin is at 6.95%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, has a margin of 6.94%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 12.71%.

Betting options — normal

M-bet is one of the major players in the Kenyan online betting industry. The platform offers a wide selection of sports that could be well harnessed by a wide variety of punters.

Range of Sports: As at the time of this review, there were about 17 games enlisted on the sports menu. We are talking about sports like: football, basketball, ice hockey, rugby, cricket, volleyball, handball, baseball, MMA, and many more.

The platform's has a very impressive user interface that features beautiful colour themes: red, grey and black. It would also suffice to add that it is easy to navigate through the site from one sport to another.

As mentioned in the cons of the website, we noticed an overly excessive focus on football. It’s normal for football to be the most wagered sport across most bookies but the fact that one single section on the homepage is dedicated to football markets only can be a turnoff for lovers of other sports. They might not be able to offer as much options for other sports as they do with football but there’s need to work more on the options they currently have for other sports.

Also, lovers of virtual games may find this site unimpressive as there are no virtual games available on the platform. This is something the management should consider adding so as to not lose customers.

However, they also have a new jackpot feature that would surely entice new customers. We will be explaining that below as part of their bonuses.

Range of Bets and Markets: With betting, a wide range of sports selection is not the only major point of concern, as the betting options available go hand by hand with it. Punters would rate a platform that has more betting options over one that has so little.

M-bet knows how crucial this is and as such provides a balanced distribution of betting options across the various sports enlisted on the platform.

For football lovers, asides the regular betting options, you get to see some really interesting options like "1st half sending off", "Goal range", "Corners", "Home team highest scoring half", "which team to score" and more.

As earlier mentioned, we found that other sports have more ‘basic’ options and this is something they must improve on. Punters already love the idea of special options and it’ll make sense if they can get it across all sports.

Betting limits: The amount of money that can be wagered should be enough for almost everyone in M-bet. Although, the limits are getting a cut on lower leagues as it's the case almost everywhere nowadays.

Live — bad

It is quite discouraging that the platform has only football as the available sport for betting. Even for sites deemed to have a ‘poor’ live section, they usually have football, basketball and tennis available as the very least. This is poor from M-bet and we expect them to address this situation soon enough.

One commendable thing about M-bet is the fact that they have a well-detailed live coverage of football. It is no surprise given it is the only one available as earlier mentioned.

Also, their live scoreboard is properly stacked and the football lovers can stay updated with live events as they unfold.

In a good number of the ongoing football games, one can follow a number of ongoing games which are animated in 2d by M-bet. To go with, the players are represented with dots giving users something of an idea of what is actually happening on the pitch.

As for available leagues and depth of markets offered, these are very limited in every way, giving us no other option than to give a bad rating to the live betting section of M-bet.

About the bookmaker

M-bet is one of the leading online betting platforms in Kenya. Despite their shortcomings in not featuring virtual games and the lack of a proper live betting section they have over time been able to attract a wide range of users and they would only get better with tome. With consistent upgrade on the platform's features, they could find themselves in the league of the ‘top’ bookies in no time.  Their betting operations are licensed by the Gaming Board of Kenya.
